ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A local construction project manager and community advocate has officially announced his candidacy for Allentown City Council.

Cristian Pungo made the announcement last week via new release.

Pungo is running on a platform centered around "Building Up Allentown," a vision he says prioritizes housing and infrastructure expansion, community investment and increased access to economic and educational opportunities for city residents.

"Allentown is my home. I grew up here, went to school here, and have built my career here," said Pungo. "My parents worked tirelessly to provide a better future for me, and that same drive is what fuels my commitment to our city. We need leadership that listens, acts, and believes in the potential of every resident."

He currently serves as a construction project engineer at Alvin H. Butz, Inc.

Election day for the 2025 Pennsylvania primary is May 20th, 2025.
